Artificial intelligence has also transformed our approach to capital market operations and investment appraisals. AI, data networks and human judgment are now combined into one system through a process called “connected intelligence/Linked intelligence.” The expected outcome? Sharper or fine investing techniques and more efficient or accurate and intelligent forecasts than ever before. AI-enabled connected intelligence is helping people keep pace with today’s accelerating rate of change in marketplaces, and the unceasing stream of data. It processes huge and very large amounts of data in real-time, detects trends most people would miss and enables quick and definite decision-making. In this paper, we discuss the fundamentals of linked intelligence, its nature, its mechanics and where it is already making waves in the field of finance. Algorithmic trading, risk management, portfolio optimisation and even investor behaviour analysis all use machine learning, natural language processing and data integration tools. Some of the challenges to be faced include algorithmic prejudice, data protection, legislation and the need to have transparent and understandable systems. In the end, it is clear that we need a wholesome approach that integrates human control, great morality and continuous technological development to enjoy the full fruits of all this development.
