Abstract
Welcome to Human-Centric Artificial Intelligence: Ethics, Trust, and Sustainable Business Transformation. Over the last several decades, artificial intelligence has been transformed from a far-fetched notion from works of science fiction to a game-changing phenomenon impacting the global economy, industry, organization, and society. Today’s intelligent machines play a role in decision-making, process automation, risk identification and management, and value creation across banking and insurance, healthcare, marketing, agriculture, manufacturing, sports administration, and office management. However, alongside these technological developments come critical issues concerning ethics, transparency, accountability, trust, fairness, and sustainable governance in AI systems. The current volume focuses on one of the most pressing issues of the contemporary digital age: how businesses and societies can make use of artificial intelligence without sacrificing humanity, ethics, and social responsibility.
