AI in Textile Manufacturing: Legal Challenges, Ethical Considerations and Industrial Transformation
Keywords:
Artificial Intelligence, Textile Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, Computer Vision, Predictive MaintenanceAbstract
This chapter examines how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the meaning of the textile production to more than process automation so as to reform legal accountability, ethical behaviour, business control, and social-economic interaction. It is grounded on the principles of Industry 4.0, and it simplifies along with this framework models spinning, weaving, dyeing, inspection, logistics, product development using machine learning, computer vision, robotics, and IoT-enabled predictive analytics. As the analysis shows, AI can transform mills into data-driven production systems that can help to improve the quality standardisation and predictive maintenance, supply-chain visibility, and mass customization, as well resource efficiency. Though such gains give rise to certain complex aspects of accountability of erroneous algorithms, intellectual property in artificially created designs, cross-national data regulation, employee monitoring, discriminatory algorithms, labour displacement and greenwashing threats. The chapter reveals the world case instances and cluster approach practice in demonstrating that incremental retrofitting, dashboard management routine, workforce reskilling and common facilities are prerequisites of victorious adoption of MSMEs. It drives a governance and risk-management paradigm that is developed on the base of the extensions of compliance, auditable by every action of the decision trail, sound data management, human-in-the-loop management, and AI risk registries. Finally, it includes a policy roadmap consisting of legal reform, technical standards, inclusive incentives, and planned reskilling so that AI will enhance competitiveness, uphold dignity, equity and sustainability. The chapter builds on the example of the textile manufacturing as a form of a responsible AI in industry based on the idea that technological progress needs to be operated in cooperation with law and justice in addition to humanity
