Connected Intelligence in Finance & Public Services: Integrating AI, Big Data, and Digital Platforms for Smart Governance

About the Book

This edited volume is premised on a fundamental shift in how intelligence is produced, mobilized, and governed in contemporary finance and public services across the world. Intelligence today is no longer embedded solely in advanced algorithms or institutional expertise. Instead, it emerges from globally connected systems in which artificial intelligence, large-scale data infrastructures, digital platforms, regulatory frameworks, and human judgment continuously interact across national and sectoral boundaries.

The book develops this transformation through the concept of Connected Intelligence, presenting it as a globally relevant framework for understanding decision-making and governance in an increasingly interdependent digital economy. The volume deliberately integrates financial systems and public services, recognizing that their evolution is shaped by shared technological architectures and cross-border digital flows. Payment platforms, capital markets, taxation systems, welfare infrastructures, and regulatory mechanisms are now deeply intertwined at regional and global levels.

Through this integrated perspective, the book explores how connected intelligence operates within diverse institutional contexts, ranging from advanced economies to emerging and developing regions, highlighting both convergence and contextual variation. A distinctive strength of the book lies in its collaboration between academic researchers and industry and policy practitioners from different parts of the world. This engagement ensures that the analysis extends beyond abstract theorization to reflect operational realities, governance constraints, and strategic dilemmas faced by financial institutions, technology firms, and public agencies.

Conceptual discussions are therefore informed by lived experience, enabling a richer understanding of how connected intelligence is designed, contested, and institutionalized across global settings.
